If I had to sum up the recent wedding between Kayla and Michael, I would say it was vibrant! The couple swiped right on love while both were living in Washington DC and several years later enjoyed a return weekend engagement trip that revisited many of their favorite first date spots. Now in California, they chose a Villa Montalvo wedding where Kayla and her family had many happy memories. When Kayla shared this special place with Michael, he fell in love with it too.
Villa Montalvo, a national historic landmark, was built in 1912 and the historic villa provided a classically beautiful California backdrop for the couple’s big day. Friends and family gathered at the lush grounds to witness the ceremony which took place outside in front of the Love Temple. Amid the greenery and sunny weather, the wedding party in their palette of blues and grays with a burst of California poppy orange looked so colorful against the impeccable landscaping!
Kayla looked so happy and relaxed in a white, floor-length gown by Allison Webb with sweetheart neckline, A-line skirt and fan back train. She completed her look with a chic updo pinned with glittering clasps, soft pink bridal makeup, sophisticated pearl necklace, and a vivid spray of orange, pink and ivory flowers. Bright orange nails and white sandals with a pop of orange showed off Kayla’s fun side! The bridal party donned soft shades of blue while the groomsmen looked dashing in sharp, navy blue suits with orange boutonnieres.
Post-Villa Montalvo wedding ceremony, guests sat down to break bread with the newlyweds al fresco under a fairytale-like draped awning adorned with foliage. La Bocca Fina provided the expertly plated appetizers and sumptuous dinner. White linens and plates, accented with gold and orange looked fresh, elegant and inviting. The floral centerpieces were cheerful arrangements from Tango & Foxtrot. With bursts of pinks, oranges, and yellows, they looked like a celebration! Once the sun went down and the candles were lit, the whole scene was magical.
The couple was serenaded with a heartfelt song by their close friends. It was a touching, emotional moment that created some misty eyes in the audience! The couple went on to cut into the lovely 3-tier white wedding cake designed by Satora Cakes, decorated with graceful, natural fronds. Indoors, Michael and Kayla shared the first dance in front of delighted guests. You could see much love and happiness for the couple!
This was a wedding reception that loved dancing! Next Selection Entertainment played a lively range of favorites and everyone took to the dance floor. I love the photos of everyone smiling, laughing and dancing!
