Summer Santa Cruz Chaminade Resort Wedding

Beach loving couple Cristina and Vince thought the best way to celebrate ten years of partnership would be to throw a big party with a little wedding sprinkled in! Their sweet engagement took place on the beach, witnessed by their excited daughter Isla. To take advantage of the California coastline as the backdrop for their big day, Vince and Cristina selected a Chaminade Resort wedding in Santa Cruz. Situated on a hilltop with an impressive view of Monterrey Bay and the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Mediterranean style resort provided an old-world romantic atmosphere to the couple’s ceremony and reception.

The wedding ceremony naturally took place outside, making good use of the panoramic view and perfect summer sky. An awning of lush flowered foliage provided shade and framed the wedding party beautifully. The bridesmaids wore the wedding color of navy while the groomsmen, the groom’s brothers, donned gray attire, perfect for a California oceanic palette. Cristina, wearing a flowing floor-length A-line gown with sheer panel fitted bodice sprinkled with glittering pearls, was preceded down the aisle by daughter Isla who opted for the title “daughter bride” pulling youngest daughter and flower girl Edie in a decorated wagon. Adorable! Holding an exquisite bouquet of white roses of her own design, Cristina wore her hair long in loose curls elegantly pulled back and held with flower pins and train. And, in that stunning dress by Calla Blanche, she herself sparkled like a diamond in the afternoon light!

A heartwarming and joyous ceremony officiated by a dear family friend was followed by a sand ceremony that the couple performed with the help of their daughters. After some playful portraits, it was on to the party! White linens with navy accents provided a crisp background to a delectable dinner catered by Chaminade with their many friends and family who came to celebrate their joyous day. Each guest was treated to a lovely succulent as a wedding favor. What a thoughtful gift! Later everyone got footloose on the dance floor to the music of Sound in Motion.

Every detail of their Chaminade Resort wedding was perfect, but you could tell that both bride and groom (and daughters) put their highest priority in celebrating with those who are dear to them. It was a heartfelt day filled with love and happy wishes for the newlyweds. I hope they have many more excellent decades together!
