This super-chic Solage Wedding
From the cozy engagement session these two booked with us, to their elegant outdoor Solage wedding, we just fell in love with their love. The way Joe looks at Abbye would make any lady (or gent) melt. They have a quiet closeness that was emulated in their at home engagement session and in the way they decided to have a private moment together after their first look (and they continued this when they cut the cake without anyone watching).
The styling of this outdoor Solage wedding was very simple, chic and classic. Her wedding gown evoked the same feel as well as the florals reception design with white, blues, and grays with shimmery lights and linens. We love the plexiglass seating chart and the mini patron bottles filled with margaritas shot and mini tacos! They had an epic hora right after cocktail hour before they were seated to dinner… and the dance party was strong until the end. This group could boogie! It was great to work with our pals Alicia K and Kristin from Solage for this wedding.
How they met
“We met on Tinder!! I reached out to Joe first — he had a description in his profile about not being a Marina guy, and more of a Dolores Park guy, but he also looked kind of cute and clean cut. I thought — I’m looking for that same balance. This was December 2014. At the end of our first date Joe asked when he could see me again, and hasn’t stopped since : )
The Friday before Thanksgiving I came home from work and opened the door to our back patio, Joe had set the stage — there were tea lights strung up on the trees, candles, our favorite song was playing, and he had a bucket with a big bottle of champagne. He sat me on the lounge chair, got down on one knee, we smooshed our foreheads together smiling and he proposed. The next day Joe arranged for us to go to the ritz at half moon bay — scheduled a couples massage and dinner at the hotel. After he had the room decorated with heart-shaped rose petals and arranged for us to have a room with a firepit. So we came back with the remaining bottle of wine and made s’mores by the firepit and talked and looked out at the ocean for hours.”
Choosing Solage for their wedding
“My mom had heard amazing things and so did we. Its the perfect balance of sophistication (that my parents like) and the casual, rustic-chic ambiance (that Joe and I like).”
