A Springtime California Academy of Sciences Wedding

Bay Area couple Danielle and Nick were classmates in the engineering program at USC before becoming romantic partners. Upon discovering they had both relocated to San Francisco after graduation to pursue masters’ degrees, they developed a friendship that blossomed into love. That love was apparent at their recent California Academy of Sciences wedding in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park where friends and family gathered to witness their union. 

Danielle credits her mother for crafting the theme and look of their refined and modern California Academy of Sciences wedding which was made a reality by wedding coordinators Tosca Productions, although it was the attendance of friends and family from all over that truly made the event so special. 

The modern and airy private room where the ceremony was held was filled with light and glass, offset with stunning greenery like the voluminous ferns that adorned the aisle. A lush wall of plants created the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom, fitting expertly into the wedding palette of black, white and green. Danielle’s white dress by Mira Zwilligner was exquisite, featuring delicate flowers, subtle beading, and an elegant train while Nick looked dashing in a black-tie tuxedo. The bride looked radiant in natural bridal make-up and gently falling ringlets. From her fern bouquet speckled with white flowers to Nick’s matching boutonniere, each detail was perfect.  

As the sun set, the formal ceremony gave way to a fun-filled dinner and reception with the bride and groom framed by a ring of greenery at their special table. The aquarium provided a relaxing atmosphere as well as the opportunity for striking photos! Best of all, the occasion brought together Nick’s family who hadn’t all attended an event together in some time to share in their happiness on this special day. 

With night falling on the city, the bright atmosphere of the Academy turned to romantic evening light, perfect for the first- and father-daughter dance. When it was time to cut the cake, guests were treated to a striking multi-tiered white floral cake ornamented with glittering gold pearls. Gorgeous!
