Travel Photography trip to Borneo!….

Every winter I go somewhere exotic and off-the-beaten-path to work on my travel photography. This year I’ll be in Borneo for a 4-day climb to the highest peak in SE Asia, Mt. Kinabalu. This is the 20th highest peak in the world, but not to worry… I’ve already climbed the 4th highest (Kilimanjaro), so this should be a piece of cake. (Remind me (and my sore quads) later that I said that!) Apparently there is a famous carnivorous plant and the world’s largest flowers on this trek – I can’t wait to see them!

In addition to the climb, I’ll spend several days trekking the jungle and travelling by boat along the Kinabatangang River.  Hope to see pygmy elephants (so excited!), wild boar, otters, orangutans, and lot of monkeys. I’ll visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center where they rehab these amazing injured, orphaned, or domesticated animals for re-entry to the wild.

A couple of days at the end to relax on Manukan Island to scuba dive and soak up the tropical sunshine (and see the famous turtles) will be perfect.

Look for fun stories and amazing photographs when I return (at the end of January).  MWP will be up & running with Vivian and Craig at the helm.  Don’t hesitate to call/email – we’re here!
